Rwanda: Janet Kagame Urges Private Sector to Invest in Early Childhood Teaching Colleges

Rwanda’s first lady Janet Kagame has Friday called upon the private sector to invest in empowering nursery teachers by establishing early child hood teaching colleges and institutions.

This she said will help boost education in the country as numbers of nursery schools continue to rise.

Mrs. Kagame made the call during the graduation and award of certificates and diplomas to 41 nursery teachers on Friday at Premier ECDE Teachers college.

“Teach and encourage community numbers at large to increase their interest and skills in the program. You can positively change and influence future generation, ed ” she said

“There must be institutions training early child hood teachers because the future of this nation lies in the young generation,” she added.

For the last 5years nursery schools increased from 1870 in 2012 to 2757 in 2016.

Mrs Kagame said “this increase has to move hand in hand with the empowerment of early child hood teachers.”
