Deputy Attorney General Mwesigwa Rukutana has vowed to emerge victorious in the heated Rushenyi County NRM MP primaries.

He cited one of the polling stations of Muheta Ngoma Sub-county where he got 111 votes against Karuhanga’s one vote.

He said a few negligible incidences had been recorded during today’s primaries.
The Rushenyi campaigns were marred by violence last weekend with Karuhanga’s supporters attacking Rukutana’s diehards.
This compelled First Lady Janet Museveni to call Rukutana and Karuhanga to her home in Ruhaama for talks.
Subsequently, security was beefed up in the district thus creating a conducive atmosphere for today’s election.
Justus Karuhanga served as the Private Secretary in charge of Legal Matters to President Yoweri Museveni from 2003 until May 2009.
He is now a senior partner at Karuhanga, Tabaro Associates law firm in Kampala.
Born on November 15, 1959, Rukutana studied from Mbarara High School and Kigezi High School before graduating with a law degree at Makerere University.
He served as Minister of State for: Higher Education, Labour and Finance.
Rukutana taught law at the Law Development Centre between 1985 – 2006.
Between 1986 – 87, Rukutana was the registrar of titles at the Lands Office.
