The Prime Minister Dr David Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda paid a moving tribute to former Health Minister in the Obote Government and UPC strongman Canon Dr. Ezra Nkwasibwe who lost his mother last week.
The Premier recalled while addressing mourners at the funeral of Yunia Kerere Rushundahire that Nkwasibwe paid for his dowry when he (Rugunda) had just returned from exile in Europe.

Dr Rugunda said it was Dr Nkwasibwe that inspired him to join the medical profession as well as politics, while he stayed with him after completing A’Level at Busoga College Mwiri.
The Premier says he used to attend UPC meetings with Dr Nkwasibwe who mentored him greatly, until they parted ways due to political differences.
Nkwasibwe’s mother Rushundahire passed away on Saturday aged 102, having been born in 1915 in Karorwa Bukinda sub county Kabale district.
She left behind 6 children, one of them Dr Ezra Nkwasibwe, who besides serving as minister of health, was also Member of Parliament for Rukiga.
