The head teacher of Okokorio Primary School in Katakwi district yesterday survived lynching by the pupils who accused him of defiling their fellow pupil.
Police had to save Julius Okwaput whose house had been surrounded by the irate pupils and some parents as they threatened to beat him for defiling a 15-year-old girl.
Okwaput was later whisked to Katakwi Central Police Station.
James Oriokot, one of the PTA members, said it is not the first time the head teacher is facing allegations of defilement.
He said the head teacher has been taking advantage of the boarding facility at the school to abuse the minors.
“As parents we feel its high time Okwaput is charged to pass a serious message to other head teachers engaged in similar behaviour,” Okwaput said.
The police spokesperson, Michael Odongo, said the suspect will be charged with aggravated defilement
