Proline Football club have earned promotion back to the Uganda premier league following a 4-1 victory over Lira based Sporting United in a highly charged playoffs finals at Nakivubo on Sunday.

The former topflight side came to the match under pressure after slipping at the last hour of the regular season but staked a fight to beat Ndejje University in the playoffs semifinals.

Gift Ali unlocked the game just after 23 minutes with a powerful freekick outside the 18 yards but however the lead didn’t last the half. Dickens Okwi equalized four minutes to the break from the spot after he was fouled inside the box.

Proline captain Simon Mbazira restored the lead again from the spot in the 56th minute.

League top scorer Edrisa Lubega had been brought down by Walter Egang. Lubega made his mark in front of the national team coach Milutin’Micho’ with the third goal coming just minute from restart.
