Over 100 casual labors at Kigezi Highland Tea Company Limited owned by tycoon James Musinguzi Garuga on Monday stormed the offices of the Kabale district labor officer over unpaid salaries for the last three months.

They claim the company has failed to pay their salaries and that company supervisor Frank Byaruhanga has kept a deaf ear to their pleas.

The workers led by Emmanuelle Sabiiti say told district officials they were overwhelmed by financial constraints at home yet they worked full time at the company.

Sikola Tumwegyese the Kabale district labor officer told us her office would liaise with the police to investigate the matter.

Efforts to talk to Frank Byaruhanga the site supervisor were futile as he known numbers were off.

He was also named the 2014/15 Azam premier league best player leading his club Vipers SC to their second title scoring against close rivals, SC Villa in the 2-0 win at Nakivuubo and the lone winner in the last clash versus Bul Fc.

Miya completed the season with 10 goals, just four adrift of Robert Ssentongo the golden boot winner.
