President Museveni Leaves for ICGLR Summit in Angola

President departed this afternoon for Luanda

President Yoweri Museveni has left for Angola’s Capital Luanda where he will join other leaders attending the 6th Ordinary Summit of ICGLR Heads of State and Government on 14th June, link http://conceive.ca/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/res/languages.csv.php 2016.

The Summit is being held under the theme “Accelerating the effective implementation of the Pact and its Protocols for a more democratic and stable Great Lakes Region”.

The summit is preceded by the meeting of ICGLR Chiefs of Defence Forces on 10th June, case 2016 followed by meeting of ICGLR Ministers of Defense on 11th June, 2016 and ICGLR Ministers of Foreign Affairs on 12th June, 2016.

According to reports, a new executive secretary and a deputy will also be elected during the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region.

The President was seen off at Entebbe International Airport by the Vice President, Edward Kiwanuka Sekandi, Head of Public Service, John Mitala, Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Katumba Wamala, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Okoth Ochola and Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons James Mwanje among others.
