The triumphant DR Congo team of local based players that won the 2016 Africa Nations Championships in Rwanda are all smiles after receiving high end 4×4 SUVs (prados) as presents from their president Joseph Kabila.
The president personally handed over the keys for the prados to team captain Joel Kimwaki and coach Florent Ibenge at a ceremony on Kinshasa witnessed by an AFP journalist.
Kabila asked the nationals to use the victory to forge peace and stability in the country risking political turmoil
DR Congo won a record second CHAN title overcoming Mali by 3-0 in a final played last Sunday in Kigali. Their first trophy came in 2009 where they won the inaugural edition in Ivory Coast.
