The Ministry of Presidency has started preparations for the celebrations of the country’s 54th Independence Day celebrations.
ChimpReports has learned that a foundation meeting for the event sat on Thursday last week at the Luuka district headquarters where the 2016 commemoration is expected to take place.

Others who attended the meeting were the Permanent Secretary ministry of Presidency, nurse http://deal2deal.co.in/components/com_k2/templates/generic_search.php Deborah Katuramu, http://currencymeter.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/class-wc-post-types.php Resident District Commissioner, Stephen Nsubuga, Chairperson Local Council Five and the entire protocol chiefs in Busoga sub region.
The meeting dwelled more on organizing the ground, identifying local spearheads and support groups and mobilizing the population mainly from the ruling National Resistance Movement party to attend the event.
When contacted on phone, minister Mbayo confirmed the development and said this year’s Independence Day event is going to be the “unforgettable” one.
“It is true we had our first ground meeting on Thursday at the district headquarters where the event is also scheduled to take place,” Ms. Mbayo said.
“Let me also assure all Ugandans that this year’s celebration in Luuka is going to be the most special and memorable event ever.”
The event will be running under the theme: “Protection of our Independence through Promotion of Patriotism, Unity and Hard Work” and will be the first since President Yoweri Museveni and his NRM party was given the mandate by the electorate to lead the country for five more years
