Denis Ayiko upset Arua’s finest Emmanuel Choul to clinch the top spot in the West Nile regional finals enroute to the grand final of the Nile special 2016 pool Uganda open.
The regional defending champion Choul came to the regional finals in high spirit seeking for a fourth appearance at the national finals but was eliminated by a determined Ayiko in the second round at the 24/7 Oasis club in Arua over the weekend.
Ayiko, generic http://davepoulin.ca/wp-includes/class-wp-customize-manager.php the 2014 regional champion defeated Choul 3-0 in the second round before overcoming Jamal Abdul 3-1 in the quarterfinals.
In the semi finala, view Ayiko defeated Gareth Potts to set up a final with Didi Jahid who had eased past Jamaldin Marlin 3-0.
The final produced a classic match that saw Didi take the first game before Ayiko came back to win four straight games to claim his second regional title.
In the third place playoff, Jamaldin Marlin beat Gareth Potts to book the final slot to the grand finale slated for 22 October at the Lugogo indoor stadium.
The overall winner will walk away with a brand new car, UGX 2 million and a pool table plus being a brand ambassador for Nile special for one year.
The regional finals continue this weekend in Eastern Uganda in Jinja, Kampala region and Northern region in Gulu.
