Police to Arrest Unprofessional Radio Presenters

The office of the Kabarole Resident District Commissioner and Rwenzori Regional Police Commander RPC  have declared an operation to raid radio stations in Fort Portal to arrest unprofessional radio presenters and moderators and those without academic papers.

There are seven radio stations in Fort Portal town. They include Voice of Tooro FM, Life fm, Better fm, Gold FM, Hits fm, KRC Farmers Voice and Jubilee fm.

Emmanuel Kajubu, the chairperson Tooro Media practitioners Association (TOMPA) said it’s true that some presenters go on radio without carrying out research.

He however noted that this was a two way because sometimes the moderators call guests to defend themselves on some issues but that they don’t honour their invitations.

Kajubu said that much as the guest refuse to come for the programmes, the radio presenters should not use this advantage but research and get facts before going on air.
