Police Summon Ntare School Headmaster, Chaplain over Homosexuality Claims

Rugunda who officially kick-started the market and trading by ringing the traditional bell to open the security exchange said,” The automated trading system will enable the flow of funds from investors to entrepreneurs.”

He further said that the government will support and take the lead in regional integration of East African community by working hand in hand to put common legal frameworks and connect Uganda to the regional Stock Exchange.

The CEO Uganda Security Exchange Paul Bwiso said that the new USE ATS can be accessed anywhere and in a matter of weeks it will be accessed on mobile phones.

“The system is on a secure and enhanced private cloud and can be moved from one place to another. It will enable private sector raise funds efficiently and more effectively,” he said, adding that it will provide cheap capital in a long-term and add value to local firms that want to grow their business.

According to Charles Magezi Mbire the chairman of USE Uganda, the system will attract both foreign and local investors because it allows participation from any location provided they have access to computer and internet connectivity.

He asked private companies to list on USE and use the Automated trading system to build their capital.

Police in Mbarara have summoned the Headmaster and Chaplain of Ntare School following a complaint that they defamed a top pastor in the district by saying that he was behind promotion of homosexual relationships and acts in the school.

The accused are; Ntare School Headmaster, Jimmy Turyagyenda, Ntare school Chaplain Rev. Benard Mushabe, a priest of All Saints Church, Kabwohe, and one Jennifer Nduhura. They were summoned to record statements at the Police Station on August 25.

Bishop Ibrahim accuses these 5 of circulating information and tapes claiming that he is a devil-worshiper who causes accidents on roads and even promotes homosexuality in top academic institutions like Ntare School and Mbarara High School.

He accused Rev. Mushabe of going around preaching in churches that he (Ibrahim) is a devil worshipper and Nduhura of unfoundedly claiming that she is an eye witness that found him worshiping the devil.

According to Ibrahim’s complaint, Nduhura goes around saying that she witnessed the devil instructing him (Ibrahim) to cause accidents on roads.

In an interview with ChimpReports, Bishop Ibrahim, said that he had filed a complaint on the 5 persons citing that he had endured the propaganda for many years but that the accused had gone too far of late.

“It is not healthy for my friends and family to hear such lies when actually, I am in a state of thanksgiving after my wife, Margaret gave birth to a baby boy,” he said.

Bishop Ibrahim added, “In fact, I am not particularly against anybody, I am only seeking justice. If they have the evidence to support their claims, let them present it before court instead of behaving like uncivilized people.”

Mbarara OCCID Chiriga Taban said that so far, one of the accused has come and registered a statement at the station and that the others will be arrested if they don’t heed the summons.
