Police Seizes World Food Program Food From Thieves

Police in Kabale District has recovered stolen food that belongs to World Food Program (WFP).

The World Food Programme is the food-assistance branch of the United Nations and the world’s largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security.

According to the Kigezi police spokesperson Elly Maate, visit http://continentalagra.com/wp-admin/includes/menu.php they received intelligence information last night at around mid night that thugs were targeting a trailer belonging to World Food Program at Kabaraga hills along Ntungamo Kabale Highway while heading to Kabale town.

On reaching the scene, police found thieves offloading bags of food while others loading it in the awaiting vehicle.

When police tried to arrest them, they abandoned the food and a Toyota Corona number UAG 924D  which was already filled with a number of bags of beans and fled.  

Maate says that police are critically analyzing the Corona because the registration number on the number plate UAG 924D is different from that engraved on the mirrors and the wind screen which is UAK 575W.

Maate said they were contacting WFP to report at Kabale Central police station where the beans are kept.
