Police Seize Immature Fish Headed for DRC

The fish were loaded in the bus seats, and are estimated at Shs 5.9million

Police in Rubanda District on Friday morning intercepted a bus carrying immature fish en route to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Elly Maate, sildenafil the Kigezi Regional Police spokesman says the bus Registration Number   UAZ 152J of Malaika Bus Company was found loaded with 17 boxes of mature tilapia.

Maate says police stopped the bus at Muko along the Kabale – Kisoro Road. The driver was identified as David Nzabonimba, what is ed 43, a resident Izindiro cell, Northern Division in Kisoro Municipality.

Maate says the bus was loaded from Buwama in Mpigi district and was supposed to cross to DRC via Kisoro.

The fish which were loaded in passenger seats weighed a total of 483kilos and were valued at Shs. 5.8 million.

The contraband is now held at the Rubanda district police headquarters.
