Buganda Road Court grade one magistrate Joan Aciro has set 30th March 2017 for City Lawyer Andrew Karamagi to continue his defense in the matter in which he is accused of embarrassingly grabbing the Attorney General Peter Nyombi’s speech at a High Court function in 2014.
On 27th September 2016 court put Karamagi on his defense after finding that the prosecution had brought evidence against which he had to defend himself.
Karamagi promised to produce two police officers as his witnesses but up to now had failed to present them.

“My lord we need to summon Corporal Ogwal David from VIPPU currently deployed in Kumi and Detective ASP Bayenuka Dan currently deployed in Sembabule, drug because we need to tender in court some statements through them,” Counsel Ssemakadde said, promising that the defense will incur all transport costs for the witnesses.
The trial magistrate granted the defense’s prayer and issued witness summons to the two officers to appear in court on 30th March.
The same magistrate lifted the Warrant of arrest which had been issued against Karamagi after his counsel informed court that they had taken a wrong appearance date; and thus gave him the last warning on jumping bail.
