After dismal performances in the first round, http://communityartsprogram.org/wp-admin/includes/image-edit.php the cops have been one of the busiest teams during the transfer market adding 10 new players to their squad.
While unveiling the new acquisitions on Monday at Kibuli Secondary School, club Patron,Hassan Kasingye indicated the new arrivals will help to propel the team to the desired heights.
“We embarked on a detailed and critical recruitment programme during the transfer period and I believe the players will have a positive impact,” he said.
“It is not about surviving relegation per say but we are laying a strong foundation for setting up a strong and competitive squad,” Kasingye added.
Of the 10 new players, 5 have come on short term loan deals from reigning league champions KCCA football club.
These include Martin Mpuuga, Hakim Ssenkumba, Brian Ochwo, Willa Paul and Yassin Mugume.
Ssaka Mpiima who also joins the 2005 champions from KCCA FC comes as a free agent after his contract at the Lugogo based club expired.
The other new arrivals include goalkeeper Yasin Mugabi on loan from SC Villa, Galiwango Arafat (from Buganda regional side Azam FC), Mike Birungi from Al Khartoum Watani (Sudan) and William Wadri also on loan from Vipers.
Police finished the first round in 13th position with 14 points just a point above the drop zone and will be aiming to turn around the fortunes in the second round.
The cops begin the second round under new coach Abdallah Mubiru on Tuesday with a home fixture against Sadolin Paints
