Azam Uganda Premier League 2017-2018 season is on the door, many teams have made adequate preparations to fully compete.
Every club has its own ambition; some teams play for pride, others battle for a Championship title, while others battle for survival.
Police FC spent the whole part of last season fighting a relegation battle, and the club needed boardroom points to survive a cut on the closing day of the season.
Police FC Coach remains optimistic that this coming season, the team is ready to compete for higher places.
Speaking after the team’s preseason victory against Kansanga at Kibuli SS, he said: “There has been an improvement in the general performance of my players and you can tell that their desire to play as a team has also upped.”
“Our target in the upcoming season is not to fight relegation battles, we not only want to compete but also we want to finish in higher places on the table,” he added.
On the team’s upcoming preparations, he said: “In the coming week, we are going to work on improving the players pace and fast reactions on the pitch, we will even have a camp in the 5th week in Jinja and we play with some of the top teams there.”
On the team’s future signings, told ChimpReports that “we will be finalizing with either Yasin Mugabi or Kisembo to help us in our goalkeeping department and we are also in advanced talks with Gift Ali.
Police FC finished 13th last season on a 16 team log with 33 points collected from their 30 games played. The team finished a point above relegated Lweza FC.
