Uganda Police Force has expounded on circumstances under which opposition leader and FDC presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye was arrested at a security house in Naguru, ambulance http://crmsoftwareblog.com/wp-includes/template-loader.php saying access to the facility required authority from IGP Gen Kale Kayihura.

“Security premises can only be accessed, visit this site following approval from the Inspector General of Police and not in any random manner or time as pleases the person accessing the premises, generic ” said Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson Patrick Onyango.

“He (Besigye) came with a team of journalists with cameras and a rowdy crowd which act is considered breach of security at the facility. Even in the event of personal or private property, no one has the mandate to inspect – as it amounts to criminal trespass unless authorized by a competent authority provided for by the law.”

Dr Besigye together with Hon. Elias Lukwago today Thursday stormed one of Uganda Police Force security premises after being tipped that they were being used as an ‘election rigging centre.’

Police say Besigye “assaulted a police officer occasioning grievous harm on him.”

Onyango added: “This was under a false allegation that the Uganda Police Force was rigging and tallying votes in favor of the National Resistance Movement party at the Naguru based installation. The logic here does not add up by any reason.”

He said Besigye was apprehended for criminal trespass and assault and later released on police bond.

Besigye, according to police, was later escorted by the police to his home in Kasangati.

Onyango revealed that, “Further investigations into this incident are ongoing. We urge all leaders and their supporters including candidates to adhere to the laws as expected of responsible citizens.”
