Businessman Sudhir Ruparelia on Saturday launched a highly developed shopping center, dubbed Market Plaza.
Located on Market Street in Kampala, the state-of-the-art plaza is majorly an electronics establishment.
To commission the building, Sudhir was accompanied by his son, Rajiv Ruparelia and other friends.
Speaking to newsmen at the launch, the tycoon said the project was part of their plans to modernize Kampala and provide more jobs to Ugandans.
“This is part of our program for modernizing all the buildings we have,” he said, adding that “more than 500 jobs” will be created from the project thus “getting more people off the streets.”
Market Plaza has 250 shops, 110 offices, and a parking space for over 100 cars.
Car lifts have also been installed in the ultramodern plaza.
