It was a colorful event as KCCA FC were crowned champions of the Azam Uganda Premier League at a function held on Saturday evening at Lugogo.
The defending champions had earlier finished the 2016/17 league on a high note after beating Sadolin Paints 2-1, web thanks to Geoffrey Sserunkuuma and Tom Matsiko’s goals.
The party started as soon as the final whistle went, troche prompting wild celebrations from both the players and fans.
Singers Geo Steady, remedy Vampino and Big Eye added life to the event with their best hits that never left the players and fans on the ground as they danced along.
The players from the winning team later organized a shower that each member had to undergo .
This was done by pouring water onto every team member.
Head coach Mike Mutebi, his assistant Morley Byekwaso and team doctor Ivan Ssewanyana were too never spared as their players led by skipper Dennis Okot poured cans of water onto them.
There were more wild celebrations as the team was awarded their trophy by FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo throwing the fans and players into frenzy.
This year’s crown ensured that Kasasiro boys took their tally to 12 Ugandan league titles whereas veteran Geoffrey Sserunkuuma was the top scorer with 21 goals.
