Pastor Bugingo was among the leaders who attended the Commonwealth Youth Minister’s Cup that took place yesterday at Namboole Stadium.

He arrived together with the convoy that brought the guest of honor, Patricia Scotland, the Commonwealth Secretary General, Youth and Children Affairs Minister Florence Nakiwala and Cecilia Ogwal who was representing the Speaker of Parliament.

Bugingo who was asked to lead the prayers during the conference and at the pitch to officially start the tournament, boasted of how he has previously blessed the national rugby team.

“The last time I came and prayed here, Uganda qualified for the Gold Cup, even today God is here to hear our prayers,” Bugingo said before asking the crowd to raise their hands in prayer.

It was evident that half the people who attended the event were his followers because each moment the Master of Ceremony mentioned the pastor the whole pitch would roar more than for anyone else.

Towards the end of the event, a section of his followers gathered and started chanting, ‘twagala kigambo sosi sente’ (we want the word of God not money),” as they went around the stadium.
