Uganda Muslim Supreme Council on Tuesday morning held Swalatul Janaiz prayers for the late Maj. Gen. Ali Bamuze at the National Mosque at Old Kampala.
Gen Bamuze collapsed and died at Nakasero Hospital after attending a UPDF meeting at a hotel along Entebbe Road on Sunday.

The prayers was led by the Director of Sharia UMSC Shk. Yahaya Ibrahim Kakungulu and attended by hundreds of Muslims.
The body according to the funeral program is now headed for Arua Muslim Primary School from where it will be taken to Yumbe Muslim District Headquarters in Yumbe town where another Swalatul Janaiz will be held.
He will be buried tomorrow Wednesday at Deya near Yumbe town.
His Eminence the Mufti Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje will be represented by the area District Kadhi Sheikh Abdul Hayi Aciga.
Mufti Mubajje said earlier that he was upset by the death of the former rebel leader and conveyed his condolences to the family, relatives and the army.
“The Mufti is grieved by the General’s death and he conveys his condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased as well as the President of Uganda His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Chief of Defense Forces, members of UPDF and the entire Muslim fraternity,” he said in a statement.
