We exclusively learnt that Willy Omodo Omodo, who is also the ruling NRM party`s national youth vice chairman in charge of northern Uganda, transported a purported victim of the Lord`s Resistance Movement rebels from his home district of Oyam, to State House Entebbe on 16th December when he crossed to the party chairman.

The said victim identified as Odongo Ali from Aber Sub County; Oyam north, is also councilor representing people with disability. Omodo Omodo reportedly asked the president to provide money to Odongo Ali since he was struck in the leg by one of the world`s banned arms, a landmine that was planted by Kony`s rebels during the two decade war in the north.

“Mr. Omodo came with a special lame man and told Mzee (Museveni) that he was affected by the landmine during the insurgency. They wanted some financial help for the man to start some gainful activity,” a State House source said.

It later emerged that Ali was not struck by any landmine as alleged by Omodo Omodo, but bitten by a snake while he sat his secondary school exams, which aggravated and resulted to amputation of his lower limb.

“Our findings with ground physical sources have confirmed that Mr. Odongo had a snake bite on his leg while in senior four that culminated to amputation.” Another source from State House said.

On 16th president Museveni did not give them money but reportedly promised to get back to them in a short period.
