Thousands have today Sunday graced Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s 60th Birthday marathon in Kampala under tight security.
All roads heading to Lubiri were closed for motor vehicles save Ndeeba-Nateete-Kibuye road. This allowed the runners to hold an uninterrupted marathon.

The marathon which featured three categories of 21, 10 and 5 kilometres was led by Buganda premier, Peter Mayiga.
Buses were put in place to ease transportation means of the guests from Lubiri to Bulange Mengo.
Mayiga said revenues collected from the marathon are aimed at rendering a hand to patients of Fistula disease.
Peterson Segawa, 25, who participated in the marathon, described it as “largely peaceful.”
He noted: “I am proud to participate in this marathon to celebrate 60 years of our king and also raise money to treat Fistula victims.”
