The Jaguar bus rammed into the truck carrying matooke

At least two people were this morning killed in a road accident in Lwengo on the Mbarara-Masaka road

The accident at Burimbare in Lwengo district hapenned at around 3 am and involved a Jaguar bus Number UAU 985S which rammed into Canter truck Number UAT 814W.

The deceased were identified by Police as Nassan Kabigumira 65 a resident of Biharwe in Mbarara district and Evangilista Kyokundire 42, physician from Rwabuganda in Isingiro district.

The two were traveling in the Canter which was carrying bananas heading to Kampala.

The Masaka regional spokesperson Ibin Senkumbi put the cause of the accident on reckless driving by the bus driver.

The driver he said escaped and is being hunted.

Senkumbi said that the truck driver Johnbosco Kisekka, a resident of Matete in Sembabule district was serious injured and is admitted in Lyantonde hospital.

He noted that most roads in the region are now in a good condition and that most of the accidents have to be blamed on the bad drivers.
