The mood at the home of former Kampala Mayor John Ssebaana Kizito is somber as friends and relatives continue to mourn his departure.
Ssebaana died on Monday morning at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.
His body will arrive at home on Thursday afternoon.
When this website visited his home in Kabalagala, Kampala, a few mourners had started trickling in for tonight’s vigil.
Meetings were being held to finalize plans for the vigil and burial of the former Democratic Party President.
Ssebaana succumbed to a stroke that damaged his brain.
According to the burial program, Ssebaana’s body will on Thursday be taken to City Hall for public viewing and later lie in state at Parliament.
The memorial service for the former Kampala mayor and presidential candidate will be held on Friday at Namirembe Cathedral before being laid to rest on Saturday in Luweero.
He is survived by a widow ,Ms Christine Namiiro Kizito who lives in the UK and 5 children.
Ssebaana Kizito was the proprietor of State Wide Insurance Company(SWICO) and a number of buildings in the city.
