The bodies of 12 UPDF soldiers killed in a terrorist Al-Shabaab ambush on Sunday in Somalia have arrived in the country.
The bodies touched down at Entebbe International Airport Wednesday afternoon at 2: 40.
They were received at the airport by Deputy CDF Gen Wilson Mbadi who was escorted by UPDF Land Forces Commander Maj Gen Erweru.
The bodies had been at Mogadishu Level II Hospital after being retrieved from the attack scene on Sunday.
The Regional Shabelle administrators had earlier claimed that the number of those killed in the ambush was higher.
The terrorist group claimed to have killed 39 AMISOM troops though they are known for grossly exaggerating figures.
Yesterday, some Members of Parliament tasked the The Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Adolf Mwesigye to give the house a full report on the attack and the names of casualties.
The Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah who presided over the sitting ordered Mwesigye to return today with the details of dead and injured officers.
