The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) has appointed five directors to support the implementation of the association’s mandate of monitoring and regulating the exploration, salve http://chopcult.com/wp-admin/maint/images/secure.php development and production of petroleum together with the development and operation of pipelines and the refinery in Uganda.

Former Principal Petroleum Officer for Planning, Peninah Aheebwa has been appointed Director for Technical Support Services.
Alex Nyombi has been appointed Director for Development and Production. He has been serving as the Licence Manager for the Kingfisher Development Area Area in the Directorate of Petroleum in Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.
The appointees include Michael Otonga Ochan who has been appointed Director for Finance and Administration and Ali Ssekatawa who was appointed as Director for Legal and Corporate Affairs.
Mr. Michael Otonga Ochan and Mr. Ali Ssekatawa have been Commissioner Corporate Services and Assistant Commissioner Litigation respectively in the Uganda Revenue Authority.
The Chairperson of the Board of Directors for PAU, Dr. Jane N. Mulemwa, welcomed the newly appointed Directors and informed them that, in their new assignments, they will among others, have an important responsibility of ensuring that Uganda achieves the goal of its Oil and Gas Policy which is “to Contribute to the Early Achievement of Poverty Eradication and Create lasting value to society.”
Dr. Mulemwa also emphasized the need for the new Directors to be patriotic, accountable, transparent, team players and to work with integrity.
Mr. Ernest Rubondo, the Executive Director of PAU, explained that the process of recruiting the Directors was open and competitive and those appointed emerged the best candidates for the respective positions after a detailed evaluation and interviewing process.
The Board of Directors of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda oversaw the process of recruitment which started in September 2016 and approved the appointments at its 41st meeting held at the end of December 2016.
