Parents have sued the administration of Mild Care Parents School in Munyonyo Kampala, seeking a court order to stop the school’s commencement of the new academic term.

The parents are accusing the school of subjecting its learners to corporal punishments where a number have been injured.

These teamed up with the Children Protection Initiative, a non-governmental organisation that fights for children’s rights, to sue the school.

Citing “sexual and mental abuses and corporal punishments” that the young learners have been subjected to at ages as small as 5, the petitioners argue that the school is unfit to be entrusted with their infants.

These further contend that the punishments and abuses combined with poor sanitation and hygiene issues at this school, people’s children are endangered if the school is not closed.

The parents asked court for a temporary injunction blocking the school administration and staff from receiving students for the forthcoming third term before this matter is fully disposed off

Court is yet to allocate the said application to a judge for hearing.
