Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Commissioner General Doris Akol has announced a major reshuffle at the tax collection body.
In a Friday staff memo, click http://cfbtoman.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sal/class.json-api-platform.php Akol transferred Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sarah Banage who has been serving as Assistant Commissioner Public and Corporate Affairs to Executive Assistant to Commissioner General.
The changes come against the backdrop of the widely-publicised controversial Shs 6bn handshake to government officials who participated in the Heritage Oil and Gas tax dispute case.

The shake-up has left many baffled.
“It’s interesting that you recruit people to serve in special areas and then send them to dockets they have no knowledge about, order ” said a source, adding, “All we see is nothing but panic.”
Officials said Akol also intends to check the massive leakage of information to the media especially ChimpReports which broke the handshake story and also published a confidential agreement between URA and foreign law firms.
But URA Manager Public and Corporate Affairs, Ian Rumanyika, said the redeployment was normal.
AC William Kiganda moves from Process Management to Human Resources while AC James Odong has been transferred from Service Management to Process Management.
AC Robinah Nakakawa shifts from Large Taxpayer Office to service management.
AC Sirajji Kanyesigye goes to Large Taxpayer office from Compliance Management.
AC Mathew Mugabi who has been serving as Executive Assistant to Commissioner General goes to Tax investigations.
Sources said this is a good position for Mugabi, an experienced lawyer in tax investigations.
Most of the shuffled senior officers received millions of shillings in the Shs 6bn handshake.
AC Irene K Bashabe leaves the tax investigations docket to Compliance Management.
AC Joseph Mwangala shifts from the Customs Audit to Internal Audit and has been replaced with Joseph Oketcho.
The managers affected in the reshuffle include Rose Wangwe who has moved from IAC Compliance to DT Northern Uganda.
Dr Geoffrey Okaka who is moving from RPD to Customs Legal is being replaced with Nicholas Kanabahita.
Micah Gaalya (RPD), Jeremy Nduru (Procurement), Richards Nkunya Mugisha (Kampala South) and Joshua Turyamushangayo (Administration) will move to projects development.
Akol said the Projects Development function will be under the supervision of AC RPD.
Ronald Kaboha leaves the records and registries to administration while James Kamara who has been charge of Kampala North goes to IAC Compliance.
Nixon Twebaze, the Northern Region manager will move to Eastern Uganda while Ruth Matovu will shift from Eastern Region to Central Service Office.
Asadu Kisitu and Jessie Abonyo have been transferred from Customs South Western and Human Resources respectively to Projects Development.
