P.5 Pupil Commits Suicide Over Punishment

Julius Sebulime, sales http://christiansforve.org.au/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-screen.php a P5 pupil at Kihurumba Primary School in Kakumiro district hanged himself on a mango tree when her mother Scovia Kyomugisha punished him for injuring his brother.

Kyomugisha says that the deceased threw a hoe at the brother that injured him on the face. She says she slapped him thrice, which angered him and he decided to commit suicide.

Kyomugisha says she has been taking care of her children since she separated with her husband Elia Senyonga a year ago.

The distraught mother says she was shocked when one of the neighbors Ronald called her that Sebulime was found hanging on a tree.

Tadeo Asaba, the Secretary for security at Kakumiro town council says residents called him immediately after they saw the deceased in the mango tree.

He reveals that without delay he called police to come and do its work.

The councilor urged young children to listen and accept some punishments from their parents and seek advice from older people when troubled.
