Cranes Keeper Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns are through to the semifinals of the MTN8 tournament after crushing Supersport united 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Loftus Versifield Stadium.
Onyango returned to the first team after missing out the 3-1 loss to Enyimba FC in the midweek during a CAF champions league final match day games.
The ‘Brazilians’ qualified to the group stages in the continental stage and have repeated the fete today against Supersport united by reaching the last four of the tournament.

Supersport united opted for a physical combative approach with Boxall surviving a card after pulling Onyango just in the second minute. The keeper however produced a sterling save five minutes later to block Dean Furman’s long range pule driver.
Gould was cautioned just in the second minute for another push on the Ugandan number one. Onyango caused panic at the hour mark when he went down with what was thought to be a possible hamstring but however he opted to pull up and continue with the game.
Sundowns will meet Chippa United in the semifinals.
Onyango is expected to fly immediately for the Afcon qualifier preparations.
