Onyango Saves Penalty as Mawejje Scores to Gift Uganda Cranes Crucial Away Win

Cranes during the last training before the match in Comoros

A 22nd minute goal from Tonny Mawejje was all that Uganda Cranes needed to pick maximum points away at Comoros in the second match of the Africa cup of Nations group D qualifier.

Mawejje fired in a screamer after Brian Umony’s goal bound shot failed to penetrate Comoros backline then Luwagga’s effort fell on his (Mawejje’s) way. The hosts replied immediately but Iguma made a timely tackle to protect the lead.

Experienced Cranes custodian saved a penalty mid in the second half which resulted from a Dennis Iguma handball.
