Omoro Woman MP Attacked in Gulu Town

The Omoro district woman Member of Parliament, Catherine Lamwaka was on Saturday evening attacked in Gulu town by assailants using a car and motor cycle.

The MP’s car was knocked at Pece roundabout by unknown people driving a Toyota Prado.

Lamwaka told ChimpReports on phone that earlier before the incident; two men on motorcycle had trailed her car for some minutes as she returned from Omoro where she has gone for a campaign on maternal health and teenage pregnancy.

“One motorcycle overtook me from left side and with a passenger on phone all turned looking at my number plate. After a short while a speeding car came from behind to hit my car but my driver swerved to the left and they ended up hitting the driving mirror,” she narrated.

No one in the vehicle of the MP was hurt but the assailants who had covered their car registration number with mud, disappeared.

She says they branched to the left and disappeared.

The incident has been reported at Gulu Central Police station and investigations have commenced.
