Police in Mbarara are hunting for an assailant said to have shot dead a 30 year old woman on spot.

Abias Kyohairwe was murdered by the unknown triggerman last night at Casino Bar in Kijungu Mbarara where she was working as a waitress.

The area residents told Chimpreports that the bar owners left the victim in charge and went on a trip to Kampala.

Her body was taken to Mbarara referral hospital for postmortem as investigations to apprehend the killer carry on.

Police in the meantime has arrested 6 suspects in the matter including an army deserter, whose names were concealed.

Mbarara DPC Jaffar Magyezi blamed the bar attendants for not keeping clear records to their customers.

Omodo-Omodo who served as the ruling party`s Youth Vice Chairman for northern Uganda until this week when the National Delegates Conference replaced him, was among the first figures to declare support for the former premier when his intention to stand was still rumors.

Even when Mbabazi kept denying the rumors, Omodo-Omodo, Kategere Thomas now standing for LCV Chairman Kamuli district, Saddam Ismail and others under the leadership of Adam Luzindana formed the NRM Youth forum and declared the former premier`s 2016 presidential bid.

Omodo-Omodo and another colleague were arrested at the inception of their group, for inciting violence when they started a serious fight with NRM rival factions at the party headquarters plot 10 Kyadondo Road.

The group insistently continued with their activities in face of all condemnation from their fellow colleagues who said they were veering from the right path.

It was not until December 2014 when the party Chairman, President Yoweri Museveni met them at State House Entebbe. Mr. Omodo and his colleagues crossed to Museveni`s camp and declared support for the son of Kaguta.

At the end of December 2014 Omodo-Omodo even led a delegation of over youths from Lango Sub-region to the same magical State House, most of them local radio journalists and radio callers to see the president.

In February 2015 Omodo-Omodo went back to State House asking for resources to fetch converts from UPC in the sub-region that former President Milton Obote (RIP) hailed from.

He was showed green light, but placed under a now retired general, against his will to deal with the president directly. Sources say Omodo wanted hundreds of millions to start the project but he couldn’t defend the figure he wanted with matching input write up.

Omodo who had long declared interest to stand as the Member of Parliament for Oyam North constituency on NRM ticket, was disappointed by the general and unceremoniously left the project to concentrate on coming to the august house.

The last opportunity was however shuttered on 27th October when he terribly lost in the NRM primary elections to carry the MP flag for NRM.

Retired Colonel Charles Okello Engola floored Omodo-Omodo with 18,323 votes against the latter`s 12,603 votes. According to those close to him, Omodo-Omodo left Lango on that very Tuesday night when the results were declared direct to Kampala.

He went straight to Go Forward offices in Nakasero and made a verbal apology. On 3rd November after presidential nominations, he actively appeared with Adams Ruzindana at Mbabazi`s rally at Nakivubo Stadium armed with Go Forward symbols in his hands. His smiling face indicated everything that Omodo was back to his roots.
