Okwi Applauds Teammates for His Sublime Form

Emmanuel Okwi scored thrice as SC Villa defeated Onduparaka 4-1

Emmanuel Arnold Okwi has been in scintillating form since rejoining Sports Club Villa in January this year firing across all cylinders.

Despite missing a penalty, information pills the sensational forward went ahead to score a hat trick as SC Villa obliterated Onduparaka 4-1 on Sunday at Masaka Recreation Ground.

The three goals meant Okwi took his tally to six goals in as many games since his first against JMC Hippos last month.

Okwi heaped praise on his teammates for his performance in the game against Onduparaka indicating they played as a unit.

“We had a brilliant performance today, the commitment from everyone was superb and we kept attacking till the final whistle,” he said.

“I believe my performance is down to my teammates, the bond we have is strong and that has helped me settle in easily,” added Okwi.

He also thanked the fans for the massive support indicating it motivated them to go on.

“We played for them (fans), they came in big numbers and  supported us throughout the game which motivated,” Okwi noted.

Playing at the Masaka Recreation ground as home venue for the first time since 1994, SC Villa humiliated Onduparaka 4-1 to cut gap on table leaders.

Okwi netted a hat trick while midfielder Ambrose Kirya scored the other other goal and the Jogoos are now leveled on points (41) with KCCA FC despite the latter having three games in hand.

SC Villa return to action on Tuesday with an away game against struggling Saints FC at the champions stadium in Mwererwe.
