The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has urged the people in the Bunyoro sub region to engage in development projects to benefit from the various infrastructural projects under construction in the region.

The speaker was on Saturday presiding over the thanksgiving ceremony held by Woman Mp Kibaale District Noeline Kisembo Basemera, upon going through the hotly contested elections.

The function was held at Bukonda Primary School playground in Bukonda Village, Bukonda Parish, Bwamiramira Sub-County Kibaale District.

In her speech, Kadaga commended the people of Bunyoro sub region for their massive support to the NRM government.

On this, she said that they would benefit much more from government projects such as roads, health units and others now being put up ahead of oil production in the area.

The speaker revealed that government is working on systematic land demarcations and pledged to personally support the issuance of land titles to the indigenous people so that they are no longer called squatters on their Land.

Speaking at the same function, the minister for finance and economic planning Matia Kasaija assured Kibaale residents that the road from Buhimba-Nalweyo-Kakumiro will also be tamaracked before 2020.

He also revealed that in a few weeks time the exercise of issuing out land tittles in Kibaale the greater will commence. He also called for patience by the beneficiaries.
