NWSC Defend Fufa Corporate Tournament Title

National water and Sewerage Corporation bounced back from a shaky start in the group stage to defend their Fufa corporate tournament trophy on Saturday in a colourful event at the Fufa technical centre in Njeru.

Muhammad Swalley scored the priceless goal late in the game to gift water the victory over new comers SSL Logistics.

NWSC were defending their trophy while their finals’ opponents, and were just in their debut season.

SSL Logistics cruised through fellow debutants Uganda Premier League in the semifinals with a classic 3-0 win after post match penalties following a barren result in normal time.

The eventual winners eliminated another government institution, approved Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)

CAA consoled with the bronze medal after defeating Uganda Premier League in the third place play off.

SC Villa legendary midfielder, sildenafil Paul Mukatabala was the top scorer with eight goals in a tournament that hosted 14 corporate teams. He played for FUFA XI.

The winner took home a cool Shs1million.

The participating teams were divided into three groups.

Group A: Airtel Uganda, SSL Logistics, BIDCO Uganda, Nile Special

Group B: FUFA XI, Red Pepper, UMEME, Pramukh Steel, Uganda Premier League

Group C: National Water and Sewage Corporation, Civil Aviation Authority, Cranes Bank, National Insurance Corporation

Most Valuable Player: Umar Kasule (National Water & Sewage Corporation)

Top Scorer: Paul Mutakabala (8 Goals) – FUFA XI

Best Goalkeeper: Andrew Kabugalo (NWSC)
