Nurse Accused of Issuing Fake HIV Results Released

Eunice Mukanza is accused of falsifying a client's HIV results

City Hall Grade One Magistrate Beatrice Khainza has released on bail Eunice Gloria Mukanza, find a medical practitioner accused of exchanging and issuing fake HIV AIDS results.

On Tuesday morning, purchase the intern nurse through her lawyer Fredrick Ssemwanga asked court that it was her right to be temporarily released before presenting 2 people to stand as sureties.

The trial magistrate did not oppose the application and granted the internship nurse bail.

“The offence is billable and the state has no objection to the bail application because bail is based on presumption of innocence according to the constitution, here ” the City Hall Grade one Magistrate noted.

She however asked the accused to pay Shs 1 million as cash bond and shs10 million noncash for each of the 2 sureties before adjourning the case to September 1, 2016.

Earlier, the state prosecutor Jackie Kyasimiire had asked court for more time to be able to present two experts for examining Mukanza’s handwriting and the one on the results slips before hearing continues.

According to prosecution Mukanza, a   25 year old resident of Kitebi in Kampala district on 31st May 2016 at KCCA’s   Kisenyi Health center III, altered HIV/AIDS results of one Beth Tusiime from positive to negative, with the intent to deceive and issue fake results.
