Incumbent Hoima Municipality Member of Parliament who is also the Second Deputy Prime Minister Henry Muganwa Kajura was trailing in yesterday’s NRM primary elections.
The vote counting exercise was however was halted and the district party registrar Paul Kato arrested by police on vote rigging accusations.
Kato by publication was still being held at Hoima central police station.

The 81 year old Minster Henry Kajura was terribly losing to his rival Dr. Lawrence Bategeka who was leading by a huge margin at the time of the arrest.
Results from the first seven polling stations gave Bategeka a 9000 votes lead, help http://crfg.org/wp-includes/class-wp-network-query.php against the ministers 3000.
Kajura, medicine who is also the Minister for Public Service joined Hoima politics back in 1988 as the district LC Chairman. He has since served in various capacities in cabinet as was appointed the Third Deputy Prime Minister in 2002 and Second Deputy Prime Minister in 2005.
Elsewhere, the Incumbent Hoima Municipality Mayor Grace Mugasa was still leading the race, while Tophas Kaahwa was comfortably leading in the district woman MP race.
The Hoima NRM elections were postponed from 27th October when the party had its primary elections to 18th November due to irreconcilable glitches.
