NRM flag bearers in Mbarara district last Friday angrily attacked the party secretariat over the little facilitation money handed out to them during a reconciliatory meeting at Pelican Hotel Mbarara.
The leaders reacted bitterly to the Shs 20, page http://cdkstone.com.au/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/emails/class-wc-email-customer-processing-order.php 000 they received from the organizers in the 2–day meeting called to reunite the district party structures and brainstorm on enhancing the party support.
One of the participants Hon Yaguma Rutashokwa attacked the chief organizer Steven Asimwe who is the NRM Secretariat field official, for providing little pay to attendants of the meeting.
Yaguma said that the party should respect each and every meeting called and mind about leaders’ time, by not giving them money that cannot even cater for their transport costs.
Meetings with good facilitation, he emphasized, motivate members to attend and participate constructively.
The meeting was snubbed by a number of party flag bearers including the Mbarara municipality NRM Candidate Michael Tusiime and the District Woman MP Rosette Kajungu who only showed up at the closure.
At the meeting, Odrek Rwabwogo who heads the national task force for President Museveni asked the flag bearers to advocate for decentralization of party duties in the NRM.
He said that local leaders are the key to transforming a society and that there is no society that changes without good leadership.
Rwabowgo asked the flag bearers to steer clear of sectarianism and embrace the spirit of nationalism.
He also revealed at the meeting, his plans to start a campaign dubbed “Redefining the Movement For Our Time’’ with the aim of transitioning the party leadership to the new generation.
The campaign, he added, would also focus on shifting the party duties and authority from the central level to the lower structures.
