Netball U21 Championship: Uganda Open with Convincing Victory

Baby She-Cranes will face Zambia in another must win clash

Uganda U21 girls netball team started their 2016 African youth Championship on a bright note thrashing Namibia 47-26 on day two.

The baby She-Cranes overpowered the opponents from the first quarter picking a starting 12-8 advantage.

This was followed by a tight low scoring second period with a 10-7 margin to give the Baby she Cranes 22-15 into the mid break.

The Cranes registered their biggest scoreline by quarters in the third to go 35-26 before comfortably winning 47-26 in a highly attacking fourth a section where Namibia failed to score a point.

In the other day two results, clinic Zambia lost 24-46 to Zimbabwe in their first game but resurged to defeat hosts Botswana 42-35 in the last match as South Africa rolled over Lesotho with an unbelievable 89-4 scoreline.

Uganda return to the arena on Tuesday against Zambia in another must win clash.

The best three teams from the African championship qualify for next year’s World netball youth Championships to be staged in Botswana.
