KIU Titans 68-41 JKL
Kampala International University (KIU) Titans showed their prowess by easing past league new comers Just Keep Living (JKL) basketball team in the game played at the Lugogo indoor stadium on Friday.
Titans showed intent from the start proving they were better in terms of game approach than JKL and eventually won the game 68-41 with relative ease.
The game tipped off to a slow start with either side failing to break away in the opening quarter but Titans eventually claimed the period 14-12.
The second quarter was even more dump with less or nothing to write home about. Both sides could only combine for 12 points with KIU Titans managing 7 while JKL could only fetch 5 points in the ten minutes.
However, more about the Kansanga based university came back much better after recess garnering 47 points in the final 20 minutes while JKL were limited to 24 points and Titans eventually won 68-41.
Despite having a game high 15 points, see Pemha’s tally for JKL could only settle for the losing side. Michael Bwanga had a team high 14 points for KIU Titans.
The result meant KIU Titan won their second game of the season. They defeated Ndejje University in their opening game last week.
In the ladies game played on Friday, diagnosis KCCA Leopards edged past JKL Lady dolphins in a close contest that saw Flavia Oketcho and Namuwaya Muhamuna(both at JKL) playing against their former employers.
Martha Soigi led the way for KCCA Leopards scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds to eventually win the game 56-47.
Action resumes this Sunday with 5 games including City Oilers who lost their opening game to Betway Power taking on UPDF Tomahawks at YMCA outdoor arena.
