Men: KIU Titans vs Betway Power 8pm

With the men’s first round one season inching towards the finish line, the Basketball fraternity is in for a treat as Titans and 5-time champions Betway Power face off in the National Basketball League thriller at the MTN Indoor Court in Lugogo.

Betway Power have been working to the bone to return to the league summit for the past 6 years since they last won the Championship in 2011, but all in vain.

Arnold Lando’s side started the season with a strong statement, winning their first 4 games including a 56-60 victory against the Defending Champions, City Oilers.

They have suffered major setbacks with defeats against direct rivals Pemba Warriors and minnows UPDF Tomahawks recently.

The team managed to return to winning ways with a routine 49-81 victory against Nkumba Marines, with their Captain Ikong Joseph leading by example, scoring 22 points on the day.

“We have had a good weeks training and we are positive about tomorrow’s game” Said Betway Power’s Michael Makiadi after the team’s Thursday training.

KIU Titans on the other hand have not had a dream regular first round compared to last season which they completed without losing a single game.

The two defeats against City Oilers and Warriors leave Hamza Nyambogo’s Titans second on the 12 team log with 2 points better than their opponents, Betway Power.

With a high profile roster highlighted by Chris Omanye, Ethienel Kazungu, Geoffrey Soro, Michael Buzangu and Sudi Ulanga, a victory for the Titans will push them on top of the league, displacing table leaders UCU Canons.
