Besigye arrives at court from Luzira recently

Nakawa Chief Magistrate James Ereemye has Thursday morning arrived at Luzira Prison as promised, drug http://cnet-training.com/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/classes/em-tickets-bookings.php to inspect the state of the facility where Kizza Besigye is detained.

Magistrate Eremye at the close of last month committed to visit Luzira Prison, after Dr Besigye raised in his court a number of concerns about his welfare behind the prison walls.

Among these, Dr Besgiye who is on remand for Treason had complained about the limitation put by prison authorities on his communication with the outside.

The opposition strongman asked court to compel the officials to allow him communicate to his supporters through messages because he is still a political leader.

Besigye said his recent efforts to write to Muslims wishing them a fruitful holy month of Ramadhan were frustrated by police and prison authorities who said he was not allowed to do so.

“I am innocent until proved otherwise and I ask prison authorities to let me communicate with my people at any time I want,” he argued.

In response, the Chief Magistrate said he would visit Luzira to meet Besigye and discuss the concerns raised.

He noted that that court is a key stakeholder that does not condone violation of one’s rights.
