Nabakooba Summons Former Boss Kayihura to Parliament Over Police Brutality

MP Judith Nabakooba is expected to summon her former boss Gen Kale Kayihura to her Committee for questioning

Mityana District Woman Member of Parliament Hon Judith Nabakooba is expected to summon her former boss, information pills http://crazytour.am/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/config-validator.php the Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura to appear before the Parliamentary Defense and Internal Affairs Committee for questioning.

Hon Nabakooba, tadalafil who previously served as the spokesperson of the Uganda Police Force, currently chairs the Defense Committee of parliament.

The committee members this morning were involved in a closed door meeting in which they resolved to have the IGP summoned to explain his recent defense of police brutality.

According to one of the committee members Hon Muwanga Kivumbi, the members want Kayihura to explain why he is not one of the officers currently facing trial before the Police Professional Standards Unit, who were seen beating up supporters of Dr Kizza Besigye last week.

Kivumbi together with Kawempe MP Mubarak Munyagwa told reporters this afternoon that the committee had instructed the Chairperson Nabakooba to summon Gen Kayihura to give his defense.

Other officials to appear before the committee include Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Moses Ali who reportedly defended the brutal actions of the police.

The Members also want to meet with the UPDF’s Chief of Defense Forces Gen Edward Katumba Wamala, who they want to explain the recent shootings in army barracks.

Although some members expressed doubt that Hon Nabakooba will be brave enough to face her former boss Gen Kayihura, she told reporters her past work has no influence on her current job.

“We were given work, and we have to do it. It’s not about what I used to do in the past but what I have been assigned to do now,” she said.
