President Yoweri Museveni has revealed that he was only being sarcastic when he concurred with FDC’s presidential candidate Col Dr Kizza Besigye on discarding Resident District Commissioners [RDCs].

President Museveni was quoted by Daily Monitor this week as stating at a State House meeting that for the first time he was in agreement with Dr Besigye that RDCs are useless.

Dr Besigye has severally preached against the existence of RDC and presidential advisors who he says are extraneous and that the funds being spent on them could and should be put to better use.
While on his campaign trail in Kaberamaido however, President Museveni perhaps sensing that the RDC there was doing a good job, jokingly stated that possibly Besigye was not entirely correct to suggest the removal of RDCs.
“I think the media people too should be taught more on English language. My agreement with Dr. Besigye was simply sarcasm,” Mr. Museveni said.
