Following their first group A loss to FUS Rabat in Morocco a few weeks ago, try Uganda Premier League defending champions KCCA FC lifted themselves up to beat Tunisia giants Club Africain 2-1 in Kampala on Tuesday .
From a goal down, Kasasiro boys fought to the last man until they were able to bag all the 3 points, but this display didn’t go unnoticed by their head coach Mike Mutebi who attributed it to youngster Allan Okello.
“His return made the difference. His creativity level was so good,”Mutebi said of the 18 year old Kibuli SS youngster who was only elevated to the senior team this season in a post-match press conference.
The left footed midfielder was all over the pitch making erratic passes as well setting up KCCA fowards as the home team looked the better side on the day.
Okello was however in the 68th minute substituted for another enterprising midfielder Paul Mucureezi but according to Mutebi, his presence on the pitch was felt by the entire team.

“He is my best player. When he was still on the pitch, every player looked good,” the Kasasiro boys’ tactician said on Tuesday.
Mutebi however praised the entire team for what he termed as the best display this season.
Apart from a small mistake in the 16th minute by the KCCA defenders that cost them a goal, the team was fantastic on the day.
Defender Habib Kavuma who played as a left back was on many occasions seen making moves foward, something unusual of him.
“My team was technically fantastic. We were in the command of midfield, pressing and forcing them to throw away balls,” Mutebi praised his team.
He said the players believed in themselves, moving from a goal down to win the game at Lugogo.
“The goals they scored were not accidental but constructed. They were fantastic goals. This shows the boys perfected what we did during training, “the tactician said of his team.
KCCA have now collected 3 points from 2 games played in group A of the Caf Confederation Cup.
