Denis Sabiti Bamwoya of Rubanda are accused by the NRM flag-bearers of supporting independent candidates Stephen Ampaire Kasyaba and Hilda Kabarungi Karuhize for LC5 and Woman MP Seat respectively.

President Museveni, page who on Tuesday addressed rallies in Muko, Rubanda to drum up support for the NRM candidates, was shocked by the way Musasizi and Eng. Sabiti were being booed by voters while on a podium.

While addressing a rally at Bubaare Secondary School playground, President Museveni was forced to invite both Musasizi and Biryabarema to the podium for reconciliation.

“Please come and assure our supporters that you have agreed to reconcile for the good of our party,” said Museveni.

Museveni further said he had “received reports about political fights” in the newly created District.

Biryabarema denied having grudges with any political leader in the area, saying development can be realised through team work.

On his part, Musasizi said the people booing him were ‘mercenaries’ hired by Biryabarema.

Musasizi further told Museveni that that the troubles of Rubanda can be resolved on a round table not a political rally.

NRM supporters claim Musasizi and Sabiti support Kasyaba and Kabarungi yet according to NRM party rules and regulations they are obliged to stand right behind the official flag-bearers, Biryabarema and Begumisa.

Christopher Ngabirano, an NRM voter from Ruhija Sub County said Musasizi and Sabiti have never openly rallied support for NRM flag-bearers even before president Museveni which is an indication of being sympathizers of the opposition.

ChimpReports understands that Museveni is worried that failure to find an amicable solution to the political fighting in Rubanda could see opposition emerge victorious in the race.
