Museveni Promises to Turn Acholi into Uganda’s Industrial Centre

President Museveni has said plans are underway to have the Acholi sub region districts of Oyam and Nwoya become Uganda’s Industrial centre.

The president said a series of power dams including Kiba and at Murchison falls are soon to be built in Nwoya and Oyam districts and these will generate more power than Nalubaale dam in Jinja which he said would attract industries in the area.

Museveni said that after restoring peace in Northern Uganda and putting in place infrastructure like roads and electricity which is a sign of development, ailment it’s now time to focus of increasing incomes for households in the area.

Accuses Mbabazi of Being Lazy

The president blasted the former Prime Minister and NRM Secretary General for not being active as far as running the party was concerned, adding that he never informed people of what was transpiring in government.

“We were doing all these developments through our prioritization policy but my little brother Mbabazi was not telling people this. He was just lazy and asleep  and never  explained the NRM manifesto  to the local people,” Museveni said.

He added,” Issues like the amount should never have been a secret but told to the people and have them assured of the prioritization policy, Unfortunately  the NRM secretariat under Mbabazi never told the public. That is why we had to choose young people like Lumumba and Todwong to lead the party.”

The president emphasized unity as a driving force to development. He urged the people of Nwoya to always strive to be united  and desist from tribalism tendencies.

“The Bible says they left what they ought to do and focused on what they ought not to do. Leave tribalism alone and focus on what will develop you and make you move forward,” he said.
